WIP

It's hump day I have so many WIP's right now there's not enough time in the day to work on them. I really need to get busy. Which I'm trying. Here is a WIP I started 3 years ago This is the first diamond I've worked on this year. I had a bag of the hexies with some fabric that I needed to be able to work more on this quilt. And for the life of me I could not find it anywhere, I thought I could of lost it last October when I took Mom and Dad to California. I keep all the stuff for this quilt in this small suitcase I found at a flea market and it wasn't in there.  But I found the bag this past weekend. It was in the truck we use sometime when go somewhere. You see the "Man of the place" thinks my Subaru is just to small, "made for hobbits" Well in the glove compartment was my bag of hexies.    Now it's back in the suitcase. This afternoon I worked on one of the granddaughters quilts my step-mother started. I'm hoping to get this one don

New Project

I know... I need a new project like I need a hole in my head, as the saying goes. But I couldn't resist. I had been seeing photos on Instagram and blogs from the Netherlands and surrounding countries. I was so drawn to it...No control. It's a Mystery Hexagon quilt called Winterse Hexjes from Anne Liefs  who has a quiltshop in the Netherlands. She started the mystery at the beginning of this year but you can still sign up like I did a couple weeks ago This was week 1 and 2 Week 3 and 4  Now I'm starting on week 5  I'm using 1" hexagons and it is so far moving right along but I figure as it gets bigger it will take a little longer Speaking of slowly moving along.... It's the second crochet scrap yarn blanket. The one furthest is the completed first blanket and as you can see the second one is getting closer. Have about 24" left to go and I will so glad when it's done. I can say that I should have a

Total Relaxed Day

I decided this morning that it was going to be a day of as little housework as possible, just the basic. Also no cooking.... total leftover and clean out the frig day. It was a cold, blustery day. Sun came out but still didn't make much of a difference. Stayed inside, lots of piecework, sitting around. Probably too much sitting around but it will warm up and it is going to be a busy week ahead. On the list for today was to add grey around this diamond Done  I also dug out the Vintage Garden top that is pretty close to done. First I put down on the floor to get an idea of how I was going to go about the border. But the light is bad and really didn't think it would work.  so I put it up on the design wall. The outer border will be pieced cuts. This was a BOM from about 10 years ago so I'm working with what I believe it's suppose to be. I do not have a picture of the finish quilt just a photo copy of he pattern or able to g

Busy Hexagon Day

It is a gorgeous day here in NE  Oklahoma, temps in the low 80's and humidity is only 44%...... perfect Done a little yard work and enjoyed walking today. It was so humid earlier this month which I just do not care for and don't tolerate very well, which means I did less walking earlier this month. Was able to finish the hexagon circles to the Dreamy Hexagon  last night. Now have all seven pinned in place to be applique and went together better than I thought.  There are still a gap or two between the hexagons but I believe I will be able to fix it where they will line up together. Have the thread picked and couldn't resist taking a picture...so pretty  My daughter is still home and bored, so she decided since she doesn't sew she could cut and prep my hexes for the Mosaic Diamond  Quilt. So far she has 13 ready with at least that many more together in groups. I will be set for awhile once she's done. My

It's Monday 6.12.17

I meant to write all weekend but here it is Monday. Weekends sometimes just are not long enough. Was able to get a little more done on the No Brainer quilt. I named it that because it was suppose to be a mindless, just stitch squares together and call it good but my mind couldn't just rest. It evolve to this now. Of course it is taking a little long to assemble. I found this golden beige in my stash, tone wise goes well but in a way boring. It will be a good gift quilt because of it's safe color palette. Spent some of the weekend potted up the herbs. Almost done with potting plants and cleaning up the porches. Would of gotten more done but I just had to take time out and sit and enjoy the day. I spent an evening working on the Hexagon Diamonds  The 3/4" shapes came in the mail and I was excited to get back to it. And spent last night crocheting. I'm now adding the blue. It was the only dark blue available of that line

Busy...Busy

It's been a couple days since I've written and boy have I been busy around here. Mom had her follow up appointment after her first treatment yesterday and all looks good and she's having no side effects due to the treatment. I've been busy in the morning working around the yard trying to get the flowerbeds, potted plants and such in order. Last night "the man of the place" and I cut out what I call weed trees. It's amazing each year how many of these little tree seedlings come up in my flowerbeds. This bed is in really poor shape and the next one to work on. Beside major weeds there are quite a few unwanted trees. Yesterday since I wasn't home during the broadcast of Mr Comey testifying before the Senate, I had recorded it all. So yesterday afternoon while resting after getting back from Mom's appt.  I worked on a new crocheting project watching what I recorded. Have been working on baby blankets but I decided that I
